Walking Into the Storm
Rise of the Peaceful Warriors
I have been frozen these past days. Frozen in my overwhelm to both clearly sense what is coming and simultaneously have no sufficient idea of what to do about it. This feeling of watching the waves come and knowing that you could drown in them, it is paralyzing. When I can bring myself back to the present moment, I can find peace again. Being able to see the puzzle before it is complete is a lonely place. It is deep and subterranean and I struggle to be legible at dinner parties.
I have the teachings, I practice them each day and still the fear and anxiety creeps in. The level of power-over domination and black-eyed violence, the hunger for violence that has gripped our world is heart shattering.
I find myself grasping to understand where and how we lost touch with our peace-soaked soul.
And I know that it was never a moment, it has always been and will always be a cultural patterning. The patterning of modernity is blood soaked. It is insatiable. Its hunger to consume grows daily. We must lay this beast to rest. Its desire to defile innocence can no longer continue if we wish to inhabit this temple planet. If we wish to have a future worth living in.
I wish I had better news.
But this is the time for peaceful warriors of the sacred to rise. These warriors will require deep courage and the knowing of the timeless nature of our being. When I breathe into that assignment, I can find again my ground.
When I remember that in the annals of future history, Love has already won, then I can stand with spine straight and face the storm singing songs of peace. You are beside me, I can feel your breath.
Our joy, our love, our celebration and our reverence for Earth, these are sacred texts of star knowledge that we must protect with our irrepressible devotion. We are the flower that blooms in the ash, the prayer recited at the unjust execution. We are the peace that does not give up and the love that forgives everything. It is only this way. Only this way that the forces who forgot their quintessence as Love will remember and be washed clean.
We cannot fight force with force without surrendering our integrity. It is only as a wave, a wave of love and forgiveness and peace that we will surmount the forces that seek to destroy all that is innocent and precious in this world.
This is possible. I know it is. It is not guaranteed but it is possible.
And so I wake each day and pray. I breathe. I stretch my fascia to allow more light to enter and I pray some more.
Spirit, may I be an instrument of your peace.
May I remember who I am.
May I treat others with the understanding of their divinity even when they have forgotten it.
May I breathe the precious gift of being alive on this beloved temple planet and may I find joy in the most simple aspects of being here, right now, able to feel and sense.

The 42 Ideals of Ma’at were inscribed on papyrus and tomb walls in Egypt dating back to at least 2925 B.C.E. These mantras were ethical declarations meant to guide souls into the afterlife.
Ma’at the ancient Egyptian goddess of justice, truth, balance and divine order brings us a precious and potent declaration of what it means to be an exemplary human BE-ing in times of chaos and dis-ease.
I find deep peace and solace when I read these soul declarations. I invite you to try it. Notice what happens in the waters of your being when you declare these truths to be self-evident. That we are human beings of Earth. Born on a temple planet of inestimable beauty. Designed to love and live in peace. When we remember ourselves in these blessed boundaries, we become woven whole again.
